Enter the number of units of each type and the Market Rent that one of these units would get per month. (Market Rent is the rent the landlord could get if the units were rented today to new tenants.)

Enter the average rent for each type. (For instance, if there are two one-bedrooms and they could get $1,000 and $1,400 because one is better than the other, enter the average, $1,200, as the one-bedroom Market Rent.)

Area

What is the area of the building, in square feet?

Advice: The building area is the area that is finished off as apartments, corridors, and walls. It is calculated from the building's exterior measurements. If a building measures 30' x 50' on the outside, and if it has three stories, then its area is 30x50x3, which is 4,500 square feet. Exclude unfinished basements and attics. Exclude unheated porches. Exclude garages. Exclude decks.

If you need help finding an online source for the building's measurements, click here.

You can enter the amount with or without commas or decimals. For example, these are all valid formats: 4500 or 4,500 or 4,500.00.
